Yesterday evening, I heard footsteps behind me and...there was my boyfriend! He came all the way from Cardiff to Swansea to see me! D'aww!

You wants Who spoilers? Clicky )

Also, due to the large flatscreen in the common room, I am becoming acquainted with House. It is a medical disaster, with the worst kind of ethics, but [info]kirke_novak has already sent me down the House/Wilson path and I just can't look away.

How are y'all?

I had great fun yesterday playing hit-and-run at [info]ladybugkay's journal. I really need a hobby. ;)

In other news, my room is in the process of being tidied. Which, of course, means it's in complete chaos. However, I can see the surface of my bureau-desk, and I can actually fold it up! Also, I can now check on the colour of my carpet. I may even go overboard and vacuum!

Huw bought me John Barrowman's album Another Side for Christmas (we open presents together before we leave Cardiff). It's quite lovely, and I particularly love 'You're so vain' and 'Please remember me' (which he sings for Scott's sister, who passed away - and it's quite moving).

However, I also realised that John sometimes sounds exactly like Cliff Richard. And that disturbs me beyond words.

1) I passed my driving test, first time, one minor. I am very, VERY happy and surprised.

2) Mum's surprise birthday party went off without a hitch. I will shortly be showing you all a very detailed explanation of how I made her present, because I feel like it.

3) I saw Huw over the weekend - yay! I'm not going to see him now until September - boo. :(

4) I am working as a medical secretary at Mount Stuart. I did audio typing all day today and it is exhausting, but very interesting. Two years of medical studies have actually taught me something!

5) The Sims is highly addictive. My Simish counterpart married a bloke called Dwayne, has two children called Isolde Marie and Winston Albert (they're both far too pale to be my kids, btw) and a cat called Isobel. I lost my job cos I accidentally deleted the car. Hmph.

So, I sent Huw a letter this morning notifying him of the end of our relationship. I think he took it rather well.

EDIT: Yes, I did send this letter. However, it was a joke. Sorry [info]maggis!

Am back in Devon now, so abusing the Sky television to watch Sri Lanka play good cricket (let not talk about That Other Match).

And here, ladies and gentlemen, is the cross-stitch most of you saw in some stage of completion - apologies for the quality of the photograph but the light is dreadful in Huw's room.

As most of you saw this in various stages of progress, I thought I'd upload it so you could see a (blurry) photograph of the finished product.

Yesterday, I celebrated my First Anniversary with Huw. I can't quite believe it's a year!

We took a walk round Cardiff Bay in the rain and the wind, stopping in at the Senedd and the Armadillo (aka Wales Millennium Centre, where the TARDIS landed and where the lift to Torchwood now lives) before having a drink and tapas at terra nova. We then went back to get changed before going to the Aegean Taverna on Woodville Road, which I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good Greek restaurant.

It was a lovely day, and as most people on here saw The Present at some point in its making, yes he did like it and it will probably be displayed in his room. I will try and take a photo so everyone can see it finished in its beautiful frame.

And that's all really, apart from to wave at [info]conjunkie, cos we finally found each other on here, and to say John Barrowman was HILARIOUS on Never Mind The Buzzcocks last night. Laughed my head off.

I've been meaning to post on this for weeks. How silly.

Well, am Back at Uni and it's all going okay. Finally built all my furniture last week and it's in some kind of order.

Work is hard but there are more clinical lectures this year, so that's more interesting. Today we sawed the top off a skull and removed the brain (I hope none of you were eating just then).

Huw's birthday is next week and his friend is taking him to see The Divine Comedy with me (which was a surprise until I accidentally told him earlier today) and I'm giving him another surprise, which I won't mention just in case he reads this.

I joined the Drama Society but flunked all the auditions, so that's the end of that.

I got my nose pierced but managed to rip it out in DR, so have to wait three weeks before getting it redone.

I was elected RAG Officer but Medsoc have apparently forgotten that, so are holding re-elections. Meaning, that I have essentially been fired.

And that's all for now! Tara!

The memes are going in a separate post, otherwise this would be far longer than [info]tk_rtmt's dissertation.

A word on Atlantis 2x19 - there will be fic. This week, because I now have time and computer access. And I need to write my Carson ficathon fic. :s

The Peak District was lovely. Huw's friends are great and were very welcoming. Thankfully, I'm not daunted by new people so that all went very well. We went walking and went to Alton Towers - woohoo! Shooting monsters and dropping towards the ground are always good. :D

Hindu weddings are great opportunities to dress up like a bauble and chatter to relatives. During the ceremony too, because it goes on for 2+ hours and the drums are so loud that talking in a perfectly normal voice won't even dint the ceremony. *sigh* I need to spend more time with my cousins. And not at weddings.

SDR is still the biggest...grr in my life, somehow. It pervades all things. Guess what's happening AGAIN? Pairings! Pairings, for crying out loud, amongst a minority ship group that should know better! And then they start dissing me quietly because they think I'm not reading. This absentee list mom thing is not working out, and my mods are vanished again.

Ah well, love and hugs to all. Good to know your lives are all ticking over nicely.

Just got back from Essex!

Saw Les Miserables for the second time - it is amazing and intense, and I couldn't believe how many songs I remembered once I was hearing them again. So beautiful, still my absolute favourite.

Going to Swansea tomorrow for Harding's birthday, then staying in Cardiff until my Peak District holiday with Huw plus friends on Friday. Therefore, Net-less for quite some time - not that anyone minds the lack of spammage, I'm sure. :D

Now... [info]helisinkibaby:Anonymous posting sucks. There's no reason why someone shouldn't have a Livejournal, therefore the whole thing is pointless. Ugh. I cannot believe how rude that was!

Next...[info]lanning shared this link. It's about a Star Trek sitcom idea that might be realised...just go. Read. I'm terrified.

*sigh* That's all really. Oh, and Huw and I have been dating nine months. For those counting.

I'm afraid I succumbed after seeing that [info]smiley_b's account didn't look too bad and wanting more userpics. :D

I think it looks okay, actually. But tell me if you want me to ditch it - cos I can do polls now! :D

Anyways, my godmother has been down which has been nice. Am going to see Huw next week, so am broke because of absurd price of public transport. Sad.

So, I've been busy. Went to Cardiff, did lots of shopping, bought many comics - it was a good week.

Then I went camping in South Wales. It did rain, but mostly during the night. Camping is weird but I did get used to sleeping on the ground eventually. I am now rather podgy, oh dear.

Huw told me something bizarre and horrific today:

CSI: Miami is the Most Watched TV Programme In The WORLD!

MIAMI?! CSI's 7 or something and NY doesn't even figure? How is this possible?!

Not happy.

I am having One Of Those Weeks.

>Work sucked. A lot. Thank goodness it's over. Thank God for eye drops.

>My camping holiday next week is a complete and utter trainwreck that I don't wish to talk about. Suffice it to say, I was very much prepared to cancel it last night.

>Huw's being weird.

>My download of the 19th episode of SGA Season 2 just finished downloading after I (stupidly) downloaded 20 first because I can't count - and it's in German. Watched it for all of thirty seconds before Daleking it and starting the whole process again. Only four days left...

And the good news is - I'm going back to Cardiff. Flipside - no Net. But back to my city. *snuggles spikey stadium*

I am going to Dorset to see Huw. I will be back soonish.

Meanwhile, I have a Neopet called DGsBruce (it's a (Kor)bat - so the name should now be obvious). He is blue. And absurdly cute. Though, seriously, I don't know how eight year olds deal with the whole thing, cos I really can't. Even the maths is bad!

*sigh* I'm slightly sick of being messed around but nevermind.

My good friend Mark, who is a GP and thinks of me as his protogee, offered me some work for the summer. Just summarising some patient notes, nothing heavy. He also said it was completely flexible and I might be able to do some receptionist work this week. Sounded good.

Waited around ALL DAY Monday for a call which came at 6pm when my mum was on the phone, so had to wait around Tuesday morning as well. Then, discovered some serious wires had been crossed and they wanted to offer me a weekly job, which I can't do because of running all over the place visiting people etc. Was very depressed, as Huw couldn't come down this week so I had nothing to do.

Then, I get a call just now saying they'll train me Friday and give me work from 24th til the 28th summarising. I can wear what I want and I get paid £5.75 an hour; and it's good sound medical experience.

Still - I hate being messed around.

Something I've discovered: One can discover the title to any Gavin DeGraw song by listening to half the chorus. Still, not bad.

Stuck in Devon, with nothing to do.

Grandad's home now, and progressing slowly we think. Family are now going on holiday in August whilst I babysit. Have to break the news to Harding, whose birthday party I'm meant to be attending. Oh well.

Have discovered The Game of Life - [info]cimmerianwillow mentioned it a few months ago and I was intrigued - and it's so much fun! I'm easily pleased.

(Oh my life - Simple Plan doing the Scooby Doo theme song is sooooo WRONG!)

And I'm going to Dorset next week to see Huw - YAY!!!

Just for [info]fishy13: BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

(oh, no, there's the first Portugal penalty)

So, just before I left halls, Huw and I went to the Isle of Wight on holiday. (oh no, Lampard! Yeah, here we go again...)It was lovely, actually, very relaxing and pleasant. (The POST! Oh my life, this is too tense!) We visited a little model village and a waxworks, whilt staying at a little seaside town. (And it's in! Go Hargreaves!)

Moving out of halls was strange but I haven't thought about missing it, really. Been too busy putting my house to rights. (He missed! Very strange shoot-out) Put together my bedside table, chest of drawers and bed by myself, but the wardrobe collapsed on Simon and myself. (Nooo! Oh, this is ridiculous! I don't even care if we win! Why am I so worked up? There goes another for Portugal :( I hate penalties)

Been amusing myself by helping out with prospective medical students (a retake?! ARGH!) - was very sick on the trip to Aberystwyth, but survived the day. (Oh, no no no! Bah.) I really felt I made a difference to them all, actually. Was very rewarding. And I got paid.

And Portugal are through. Hmph. Oh, the players are crying. That makes me sad.

I have been missing people. Not always specific people, just people being around. An empty house, especially at night, is quite intimidating. Though I did get through the whole first season of Lost - very watchable and intense, but not something I'm particularly fussed about rewatching.

I miss Huw. Quite a lot.

(Ooh - Doctor Who! Quick! Quick!)

So, I went to watch Glamorgan play Twenty20 against Somerset yesterday - they won by a wicket. [info]fishy13 and I spent a large portion of Somerset's innings staring at Brendon McCullum's arse on the boundary. And a very nice arse it is too.

Now I'm back in Devon.

Oh, and I PASSED WITH MERIT!. :D

Well, Ladies (and Gentleman ;)), I am happy to say that My Very Significant Other (EDIT: Because Huw is a NITPICKER!) and I have been dating 6 Months today! *happy sigh*

Unfortunately, I have exams today and tomorrow, so we're going out to lunch on Friday before he goes back to Essex on the weekend to play cricket. Such busy lives!

In other news, we have the keys to our house and my room's being painted next week! Two very fetching shades of blue, and then I get to buy furniture! Bookcases! Oh, how I miss bookcases!

Also - amusing thing I received through my e-mail, check it out!
