Tonight, I watched Amazing Grace for the second time this week. And it's a brilliant film, as I have stated before.

And I cannot find any slash for it.

Now, clearly, it is a film of great storytelling and historical import, but if Ioan is going to run around in period costume and made cow-eyes at dear Benedict, what is a girl to do?! I mean, Wilber and Billy are buried next to each other!

So, I ask you, where is the slash? Or did no one watch this film? Do people consider it too sacred to touch (which I cannot believe is true)?

Am I in a minority when I say I quite like the flagging system?

I mean, personally, I don't really have to worry. I may go back and tag a couple of fics with 'Adult Concepts', but I'm quite happy.

Of course, I was a "child" roaming the internets - and I read my first NC-17 fic at 13. If you're a minor and you want to continue to enjoy the more "adult" parts of lj, you just create another livejournal and make up a birthday. It is not hard. I mean, you might lose your livejournal cred, but a little variation on a username (e.g. demon_faith1) wouldn't be so bad.

It's a little extra hassle but if it stops fen being ToSsed, I'm all for it.

Oh, of course, it's hard to prove, but it's certainly unprofessional and completely stupid.

In summary, Livejournal have declared that *all* depictions of sexual activity amongst under-18s - including fiction and art - are not allowed on their servers.

The result? Fandom appears to be upping and leaving. It doesn't personally affect me (I think...) and I'm not really a part of fandom anywhere, but it hurts. I might create yet another social networking thing to keep in touch with people.

Right before HP7 as well? Coincidence?

So, I got back from Spain yesterday. I was there for my mum's cousin's son's wedding (no, we still haven't worked out his title!). It was a Catholic wedding, in Spanish, so that part was a little confusing but it was a lovely hotel and event.

However, Spain really doesn't understand vegetarians, so eating was an issue. Ah well.

Harry Potter: I only have Phoenix and Prince to go! Not really much to say about Azkaban and Goblet, except that they really really make me want to read shoebox_project.

I finished posting my Bruce/Dick WIP. It's really quite a strange feeling.

I've decided that I have two other small things to complete and then the fic-writing will be completely done. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.

I just got an e-mail from Heliopolis. I seriously haven't visited that site for YEARS. And, of all days, it's ironic that it arrived today.

I'm pulling out of fandom. There are many reasons for this that I'd rather not go into, but suffice it to say, I will no longer be writing. I will finish the WIP I've promised to complete for batknights and that will be the last thing I write for fandom.

I will keep up SDR and monitor_duty, but I think it's time I moved on. I'll still update normal, RL things here, and my love for my favourite shows, movies and comics will continue to be squeed across your flists.

One thing fandom is great at is catchy names.

Well, whilst there were rumours going round that the whole 'LJ is suspending fannish accounts!' thing was all a huge hoax, it actually turns out that it wasn't.

Here's SA/LJ's take on the whole thing.

Basically, there was crackdown on child pornography. Fair dues. However, journals and communities that are involved in things like Batman/Robin or Wincest, for example, were also swept up with the dirt. Interests like 'underage', 'incest' and 'rape' on profiles were what caused the problem, and that's why I gave you all a warning.

Still, they're sorting it all out now. fandom_counts is a community to simple gause how many people on LJ are fannish. Join and be counted!

Yesterday, I read a fic that threatened to put my off fanfiction for life. I was prepared to throw my whole livejournal life away, except for those few unfinished fics I cling on to, because I hate leaving things half-finished.

Then, I logged on this morning, not wanting to read angst or even fic again. And I find that skitty_kat has drawn some preliminary sketches for one of my fic and that my dear coppercowries has also volunteered to offer something. Suddenly, I'm feeling better and my faith in fandom is restored.

Still, I won't be reading anything angsty for a while.

So, I drove Bond for the first time. Mum was nervous and very cautious with me, which was a little frustrating. However, the gear stick is slightly different, the bite is higher and the accelerator stickier than my instructor's car. Took a bit of getting used to.

Also, I'd forgotten how addictive drabbles are! To the detriment of my study, it must be admitted. Still, loving fandom at the moment.

1) Some of my friends spent seven hundred pounds in a strip club. I'm still in shock.

2) Fandom and real life should only mix under controlled circumstances, and far too many people know about my Pikachu/Lindsey fic.

3) Neopets now have a Taipei game - I'm in Heaven.

I've never had this happen to me before, so it's a bit of a shock. I descend into my RPS madness, join an lj list and then one of the mods dies. And I didn't know him, being new, but it's still really strange almost-grief.

Anyways, I went on a road trip to Bristol yesterday with mantium, so we could catch a Serenity preview. We first missed our junction because we were talking but didn't realise until six junctions later, so turned back six junctions before pretty much returning in the same direction via an A road. After that, none of the directions made sense, so we stopped at a pub at 8.30 (when the film was meant to start), got directions and arrived late. We dived into our seats as the logo came up - good timing!
