You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? So, clearillusion shared this with me and I had to pass on the tears.

It's an extract from the Torchwood radio play 'Deadline' and is a speech Ianto gives to Jack while he's in a coma. It is completely and utterly heartbreaking, for any number of reasons, and yes, I cried and then I flailed my arms with squee. Y'know how it is.

Amazon have removed all books with "adult material" from the rankings. This includes books with LGBT characters, erotic scenes and sexuality of the disabled.

What does this mean? Amazon rankings affect the appearance of books in the search engine, the bestseller lists and the "books recommended for you" section. If "homosexuality" is entered into Amazon.co.uk search, the top two books are "Can Homosexuality Be Healed?" and "A Parent's Guide To Preventing Homosexuality".

Amazon is officially calling this a "glitch", but Customer Services e-mails state:

"In consideration of our entire customer base, we exclude "adult" material from appearing in some searches and best seller lists. Since these lists are generated using sales ranks, adult materials must also be excluded from that feature."
